Spring Meeting 2012
With cherry blossom front came west to east, long awaited riding season has come in Japan! WIMA Japan had a spring meeting in Aichi prefecture (central Japan). We also had a general meeting and discussed about a lot of agenda. The very Japanese style dinner after the talk was great and we chatted with each other till late. The ocean-view open-air spa of the hotel was perfect for us after a long ride. Some people enjoyed a nearby popular winding route on the way back home in a group. We’ll see you sometime, somewhere, till then, Matane!
春ミーティング／総会
バイクシーズンの到来とともに恒例の春ミーティングが開催されました。今回は愛知県の西浦温泉に各地から、それぞれがツーリングを楽しみながらメンバーが集合しました。また、日本支部総会も同時開催され、多くの議題が話し合われました。そして十分に疲れお腹がすいたところで、美味しい夕食（とお酒）をいただき、久しぶりに会うメンバー同士で夜遅くまで楽しい話はつきません。海に面した露天風呂からの眺めも気持ちいいお宿でした。翌日は、三河湾スカイラインの走りを楽しむグループもあり、帰路も存分に楽しめたようです。今年も安全にバイクを楽しみたいですね。では、また！
2012-03-25 東京モーターサイクルショー
Tokyo Motorcycle Show 2012
WIMA carried out PR activity, handing out flyers to female visitors, at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show for 3-day in March.
Great number of female riders! Yee-ha!
We were impressed by the number of female visitors, including current riders, future riders, former riders, especially this year. A booth for ladies was packed with people at the time of “win-a-prize game”. Surprisingly, 3,000 copies of leaflet were all gone by the end of 2nd day. It was wonderful 3-day event to meet such a lot of rider girls!
今年は女性が多い！
今年感じたのは、とにかく女性が多いこと。ブース内で開催した豪華賞品が当たるじゃんけん大会には女性客が殺到して身動きが取れないほど。ブースで配布した女性向けパンフレット3000部は最終日を残して2日間で無くなってしまいました。びっくりです。
たくさんの女性ライダーにお会いできた嬉しい3日間でした。
2011-09-23 ラブジアース ミーティング
The 17th Love the Earth Meeting
Despite our worries about weather, typhoon has passed away and we gathered under the blue sky.
We now have regular visitors to our booth and some people looking forward to see each other on occasions of this event.
会場は静岡県牧之原市地頭方（じとうがた）海浜公園
おなじみ御前崎付近の海岸が会場です。
台風の影響で明け方まで断続的な雨が続き、バイク参加者の安全が心配でしたが、早朝からは台風一過の青空が広がりました。
知り合いに会うことを楽しみに遠くから参加している人も多く、WIMAのブースに毎回声をかけてくれる常連さんもいます。
WIMAのブースを見て「知ってますよ」と言って下さる方も多くなり、嬉しくなります。
Nothing is difficult. Just come and do it.
As many of our friends already know, the Love the Earth campaign is a riders’ initiative to return the favors we riders have received from beautiful nature. As many as 800 riders came from all over Japan and cleaned up the beach. At the beach, there were so many driftwoods along with garbage by typhoon, but these woods will back to nature “naturally” and we picked up only rubbish. The talk shows and some games after clean-up are another fun for participants.
誰でもできることから始めよう
ラブジアースはライダーが展開する清掃活動です。美しい風景を楽しませてくれる地球にほんの少しだけライダーができる恩返しをしよう、という発想で始められました。
今回も、約800名の参加者が全国から駆けつけ、地頭方の海岸でゴミを拾いました。台風の直後でおびただしい流木が打ち上げられていますが、流木は自然に帰るので今回は流木以外のプラスチックゴミなどを拾います。
清掃活動の後は恒例のトークショーやじゃんけん大会も参加者の楽しみになっています。

WIMA Japan’s national meeting was also held on the day and some members rode to Hamamatsu where the meeting held after joining the activity.
WIMA Japan will keep supporting the Love the Earth campaign.
WIMAのミーティングも開催
WIMAの秋の1泊ミーティングがラブジの日程と合わせて開催されました。
今回はラブジ会場から遠くない浜名湖が会場でしたので、ラブジで清掃活動をしてから宿に入った会員もいました。
WIMAはラブジアースの活動に賛同し、今後も参加していきます。
また来年のラブジでお会いしましょう。

Annual motorcycle event, the Home of Motorcycles 2011 was held in Hamamatsu-city, Shizuoka. This year again, WIMA made PR and reported our activities on stage and at our own booth.
バイクのふるさと浜松 8/20-21
静岡県浜松市で8月20-21日に開催された「バイクのふるさと浜松」というイベントで広報活動をしました。
この催しは国産バイクのふるさと浜松市の市民フェスティバルを兼ねたモーターサイクルショーのようなイベントです。
WIMAはメイン展示場にブースを出展し、大型モニターを使って活動報告とPRをしました。
On the stage
In addition to allocated PR time, one of our member appeared on a talk show together with a female on-road racer and also a female motocross racer. The theme of the talk show was “motorcycle life of women” and of course stories about GB rally was mentioned by WIMA member.

また、ステージでは、オンロードレーサー・モトクロスレーサー・WIMA会員の3人が女性のバイクライフをテーマにしたトークショーに出演し、GBラリーの報告を含めた活動を紹介しました。
トークショーとは別に組織PRの時間も頂き、ステージの上から会員募集も行いました。
2011-06-16 東日本大震災 復興支援活動
The Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Support
On March 11th, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred. Fortunately we were able to confirm safety of our members living in the affected region.
Fuel shortage was serious problem after the disaster. Under such circumstances, an Osaka-based company PITSUPPORT Co., Ltd. was preparing to deliver motorcycles for the use of relief activity, because he learnt usefulness of small motorcycles in disaster sites from his experience of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995, and thought this is the time to fully utilize value of motorcycles. WIMA Japan worked with the company and 1 GYRO CANOPY (Honda) was sent by WIMA Japan together with 3 GYRO CANOPYs, 1 GEAR (Yamaha), 1 JOG (Yamaha) by PITSUPPORT.
This activity appeared in the newspaper. Following is the translation of the article.
バイクを贈ろう！
地震発生直後の燃料不足が深刻な状況の中、大阪を拠点とする株式会社ピットサポートさんが、阪神大震災の経験から二輪車の有用性を今こそ活用すべきだと、バイクを被災地に贈られる準備をされていたことから、WIMA日本支部はこれに協力させていただきました。ジャイロキャノピー4台、ヤマハギア1台、JOG 1台の計6台のうち、ジャイロキャノピー1台が「WIMA号」として有効に活用されています。

●English Translation
More than two months has passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred and many people in the motorcycle industry providing various assistances for the affected area. Among them, a Kansai-based motorcycle-related company and a non-business riders’ community cooperated together to send business-use motorcycles as emergency vehicles for relief activity shortly after the disaster. The motorcycles along with other machines sent from different routes are widely utilized in the quake-hit area to facilitate support activities.
This was achieved by the collaboration of 2 organizations; The PITSUPPORT Co., Ltd who provides maintenance and management service of business-use motorcycles in Osaka and Japan division of Women’s International Motorcycle Association which consist of female who loves motorcycles.
On the day of the earthquake hit, president of PITSUPPORT Takayuki Matsumoto encountered a jolt of the huge earthquake in Tokyo while he was working there. After he returned to Osaka, he found the serious damages on news and remembered how useful motorcycles were at the time of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, then decided to transport business-use motorcycles to the disaster-stricken region. He also heard about supporting and encouraging messages sent from overseas members of WIMA to WIMA Japan from Keiko Osawa of WIMA Japan (resident of Kansai) and this gave him a push to move ahead with the plan.
Coordination was not easy due to communication system failure but Osawa and a WIMA member living in Tohoku area who already engaged in volunteer activity on-site worked together and the plan came true by transporting 6 business-use motorcycles and other relief supplies on March 19th. Member of WIMA Japan accompanied PITSUPPORT in transit and delivered “WIMA Canopy”.
Motorcycles delivered to Sendai City Disaster Volunteer Center (Sendai City Council of Social Welfare) are being utilized as valuable means of mobility among dotted shelters and volunteer centers. The bikes were effectively used as a communication tool especially when communication system disrupted just after the earthquake and tsunami. Four out of the six motorcycles equipped with huge container and were actually trikes, and these vehicles can be used to transport some relief supplies. Thus, they are now conveniently used by the local people.

関東では、東北メンバーの上京時に、あらかじめ必要な支援物資を集め、必要とされる場所に直接届けることができました。
We also collected relief supplies when our Tohoku member came to Tokyo and she delivered the goods directly to those who need it.
また、日本支部のみならず、海外の支部でも被災地の復興を願って募金活動が行われ、6月3日現在の義援金総額577,869円を、宮城県災害対策本部および岩手県災害義援金募集委員会に送りました。ホームページに報告がありますので、下記URLをコピー&ペーストしてご覧ください。

2011-05-29 第16回ラブジアース in 鳥取
The 16th Love the Earth in Tottori prefecture
The Love the Earth campaign was held at the beach near the Tottori Sand Dunes on May 29th.
Unfortunately, typhoon was approaching to the region on this day but about 200 crazy riders gathered to clean up the beach. All participants came in the pouring rain and strong wind and this fact is enough for us to feel a sense of unity.
あいにくの台風接近で風雨が強く、今回は参加者が約200人と少なかったのですが、逆に
「こんな雨の中をよく来たよね・・。」
と互いに笑い合いながらゴミを拾って参加者の一体感が強まり、温かいイベントになりました。
2011-05-15 チャリティモーターサイクルショー
Charity Motorcycle Show
Charity Motorcycle Show for the support of Tohoku was held in Tokyo.
Annual motorcycle show was scheduled to be held in March but was canceled due to the earthquake disaster and after quakes. However, the event was held on a voluntary basis to raise money for the people and region of Tohoku; participants who take demo rides made donations.
WIMA Japan agreed to purport of the event and 4 of us worked in the operation team together with 11 non-WIMA female riders gathered through internet. Fifteen ladies in yellow vest guided motorcycles to parking lot.
チャリティモーターサイクルショー 2011年5月15日
東京お台場で、東日本大震災支援のためにチャリティ・モーターサイクルショーが開催されました。
3月に予定されていた従来のモーターサイクルショーは震災の影響で中止となりましたが、ニューモデル試乗会と合わせて震災への義援金を募るために、有志によって新たに生まれ変わったイベントでした。
日本支部では趣旨に賛同し、4名が運営ボランティアに参加しました。
インターネットを通じて集まった11人の女性ライダーも参加し、黄色いベストの女性チームで駐輪場誘導をしてきました。
4,500 visitors!
The event was held on short notice and we wondered if the vast parking lot is really filled with motorcycles. There was no need of worry. As soon as the gate opened, bikes came in through the gate in an endless stream, and the parking lot was filled with 1,500 machines before noon. Amazing!! Other bikes came in after some came out and eventually the number of visitors was 4,500 people!
It’s a tough but exciting work to see so many motorcycles come and go for this charity event. This was a great opportunity to do something to support people in the north.
広い駐輪場が埋まるのか不安な中での誘導開始
今回のイベントは告知期間が短かったため、広大な駐輪場が埋まるのかどうか、最初は誰もが不安でしたが、ゲートオープンと同時に途切れなく入場してくるバイクで、なんと1500台の駐輪場は午前中に全面が埋まりました。びっくりです。
その後も、帰る人と来場する人で常にバイクは入れ替わり、来場者は推定4500人だったそうです。
休み無く誘導の旗を振る仕事は大変でしたが、どんどんやって来るバイクにわくわくした一日でした。
多くのライダーがチャリティ・イベントに参加して下さったことは非常に嬉しく、お手伝いする機会を得た事に感謝しています。
2010-12-19 ＬＳＯ講習会
“I’m IMPRESSED!” … LSO Life Supporting First Aid – Basic Skills Course December 19th,2010
Nine members of WIMA Japan attended the Life Supporting First Aid Basic Skills course held by LSO (Motorsport Life Saving Organization) on December 19th in Tokyo.
I haven’t sat through any learning experience lasting more than an hour in many years, and the entire 9-hour program (including 1-hour lunch time) seemed a little ambitious. But despite all my reservations, the long hours went by fast while kneeling over the CPR doll named “Anne” and trying to revive her. Of course, that’s not the only thing we did, as you can see, and we all had a great time.
すごいぞ！LSO講習会
昨年１２月１９日（日曜日）に東京・大田区「文化の森」で開講されたＬＳＯの講習会にメンバー９人で参加しました。「緊急時の応急手当と事故防止」を趣旨とした９時間（途中１時間のランチタイムを含む）という１日がかりの講習会。
１時間以上勉強するのは○○年ぶりという私は、参加表明したものの終了まで覚醒していられるか内心不安だったのですが、いざ始まると「おもしろい！」「なるほど！」「楽しい！」。座っている時間はほんの僅かで、様々な事故を想定しながら床に敷かれた毛布にひざまずいたり寝転んだりしてファーストエイド（応急手当）をみっちり練習しました。

Motorsport Life Saving Organization
ＬＳＯは、モータースポーツに携わる人たちに応急手当のノウハウを広めるため、独自の認定プログラムで講習会を定期的に開催しています。インストラクターは、プロのラリードライバーや、サーキットのオフィシャルなど、まさにこんな人たちから教わりたいと思う方々。実際の経験談もとても参考になります。
LSO holds classes like these regularly to promote first-aid skills for people related to motorsports. The instructors are people with carriers in motorsports, like a professional rally-driver, or a racing-circuit officials, with interesting stories to tell from their actual experiences.
The program teaches a lot of what is necessary to feel confident in case of emergency. It would be great if I can maintain the level of skills I learned. “I am trained to give first-aid. Let me help you.” Wouldn’t you like to be able to say these words to an injured person? I would.
I also felt a strong passion toward exonerating the prejudice against motorcycles that we all felt at one time or another. But, imagine the future when most of the riders have the trained first-aid skills. In the cities, or on the back-roads in the countryside, people wave to stop motorcycle riders in hopes of being rescued. This is the vision the LSO strives for, and I completely empathized.
今回の受講で感じたこと
まず、「いざ」という時、「これだけの知識は持っていたい」と思う事を教えてもらえた！この知識は継続して持っていたいと感じました。最初に負傷者にかけるのは、「私は手当の訓練を受けましたので、協力させて下さい」という相手を安心させる言葉です。いざという時、これが言えたらいいと思いませんか？
熱い思い
さらに・・・それは、講習会を通じて伝わってくるＬＳＯのモータースポーツへの熱い思いです。ライダーなら一度は感じるバイクへの偏見。でも、ライダーの大半がレスキューのノウハウを持っている時代が来るとすれば、イメージは全く違ってくるでしょう。
街中で、あるいは田舎道で手当が必要となった…そんな時、「ライダーなら応急手当ができる」と、通りがかりのバイクに手を振る。それがＬＳＯの１つのビジョンだと聞き、感動しました。

Some of us also enjoyed a little get-together, talking about the Japan Rally over tea. If you haven’t had the chance to take the LSO first-aid class, I recommend that you do. I’m almost certain that it would add a positive essence to your motorcycling life.

2010-09-19 第15回 ラブジアースミーティング
The 15th Love the Earth Meeting
The 15th Love the Earth meeting was held at Jitougata Seaside Park in Shizuoka.
WIMA has been involved in this campaign as we did during 2010 Japan rally. Ten WIMA members plus six family members joined this time and clean-up the seaside park together with 800 participants most of them were riders.
おなじみの御前崎
9/19（日）静岡県牧之原市の地頭方海浜公園（御前崎付近）で第15回目のラブジアースミーティングが開催されました。
通称ラブジと呼ばれるこのミーティングは、ライダーによる清掃活動で、「自分にできる事から始めよう」という呼びかけに応えて駆けつけたライダー達が海岸の清掃をしています。
WIMAからは、10名の会員と6名の家族が参加し、約800名のライダーと共に地頭方の白い砂浜でゴミ拾いをしました。
After talk shows and some games, Mr. Sato from the organizing committee sent us a message and it was impressive to me.
“Please do not satisfy with the fact that you cleaned up the beach. I hope your participation to this Love the Earth meeting becomes an opportunity to start thinking from where these trashes were come from, and what happened if I didn’t pick up this garbage.”
恒例のトークショーやじゃんけん大会も終わり、解散直前に実行委員の佐藤信哉さんが参加者に呼びかけた言葉が印象的でした。
「今日、ゴミを拾って良かったと満足して終らないで欲しい。このゴミはどこから来て、なぜここにあるのか？自分が拾わなかったらどうなったのだろうか？と考えるきっかけにしてください。」
WIMA will support this campaign as we agree to its purpose: take action to protect our earth.
楽しみながら、地球のために小さなアクションを起こそう、というラブジの趣旨に賛同し、WIMAはこれからも活動を応援していきます。

Motorcycle event: Hamamatsu-city, Home of Motorcycles 2010
August 21, 22, 2010
A Motorcycle event: Hamamatsu-city, Home of Motorcycles 2010hosted by Hamamatsu-city, Shizuoka was held. WIMA was one of the exhibitors at this event and also had chance to talk on the stage.
Motorcycles has been familiar to people in Hamamatsu as the city is “home” of motorcycles in so many words. Visitors were not only active riders but also people of all ages who had been riding and start thinking to be a rider again. Many of them told me that this town was filled with “Pong-Pongs” in the good old days in a reminiscent mood. Pong-Pongs is a nickname for motorcycles unique to this region, and was named after exhaust sound.
At the stage, we were interviewed about WIMA, Rallis in Japan and overseas.
This event was somewhat different from other rider’s event but was enjoyable to meet people of all ages.
バイクのふるさと浜松2010 8月21，22日
静岡県浜松市主催により開催された，バイクのふるさと浜松2010に行ってきました。今回，WIMAのブース展示とステージインタビューの機会をいただきました。
浜松市民にとって馴染みの深い二輪車，来場者は現役ライダーに限らず，昔乗っていたけど，また乗ろうかなぁという，年齢層の高い人たちがご夫婦で来られているのが印象的でした。多くの方が，「昔はこの町はポンポンだらけだった。」と懐かしい目で話してくださいました。ポンポンというのは，バイクの排気音からつけた地方独特のバイクの愛称だそうです。
ステージでは2日間，インタビュー形式でお話する時間をいただき，日本ラリーの報告，海外ラリーについて，WIMAについて，お話させていただきました。
現役ライダーが多く集まるイベントとは違う雰囲気が楽しかったです。
2010-07-24 鈴鹿8耐 マガリー・ラングロア選手の応援に行ってきました。
Suzuka 8 hours: 24th/25th, July
We went to see Ms. Magali Langlois’ race at Suzuka 8 hours. Last weekend at the female riders’ meeting, we promised to meet her in Suzuka. This was her second challenge to ride at Suzuka 8 hours. A future mechanic Cecil was also gave us a good smile to our cameras.
鈴鹿8耐 予選・決勝 7/24-25
フランス人女性ライダーマガリー選手の応援に鈴鹿8耐に行ってきました。先週の7月19日に愛知県幸田サーキットの走行会・トークショーでマガリーと鈴鹿サーキットであうことを約束し、2年連続出走という快挙を応援しに7月24日（予選）から25日（決勝）にかけて行ってきました。
At the pit
We met Magali just after a qualifying race at their pit. She kindly suggested us to sit on their machine in a tense atmosphere with a smile on her face. Of course we were on the mochine in turns and took pictures with each other. We hoped her team’s completion of 8 hours for tomorrow’s final race.
In the morning of final race, tension had mounted throughout the pit. However, Magali greeted us with a smile. Unexpectedly, we had an experience to be an umbrella girl at grid!
Finally, Magali was on the track. We all rushed to S-turn to see her and got excited about her aggressive riding. After few rounds, Magali’s machine was missing and we heard announcement “Oh! Magali is…….” We hurried to the pit and found that she crashed with other machine. Unfortunately her team failed to complete the race.
Even so, her aggressive riding gave us power and positive impression. Magali’s personality and attitude toward race made us feel we would like to support her again next year in Suzuka. Thank you for your impressive riding!
再会
24日の予選後にピットでマガリー選手に再会。私たちの顔を見たマガリー選手は参戦するマシンにまたがってみないかと、明日を決勝にひかえ緊張した雰囲気の中、笑顔で話しかけてくれました。WIMAメンバーはバイクにまたがり記念撮影。マガリー選手と同じくフランス人女性でメカニック見習いのセシルとも“パシャ”。明日の決勝は、マガリー選手が目標として掲げていた「完走」を応援していますと声をかけました。
25日の決勝当日、ピットを訪れると、昨日より更に緊張した雰囲気。それでもマガリー選手は私たちに変わらず笑顔を見せてくれました。また、予期せぬことに、グリッドでのパラソルガールも体験させていただきました。
残念なリタイア
いよいよマガリー選手が出走。S字コーナー激観区に移動して応援、手を振り、カメラに納まらない勢いで走ってくるマシンを納めようと何度もシャッターを押しました。すると、「マガリー選手が・・・」と、実況の声・・・。「マガリー選手がどうした〜！（WIMAメンバー）」と、慌ててピットに戻りました。マガリー選手が他のライダーと接触した様子。残念ながら、マガリー選手のチームは完走となりませんでした。
結果的に、完走という目標は果たせませんでしたが、マガリー選手の果敢な走りに感動とパワーをもらいました。トークショーや8耐を通じてのマガリー選手の人柄やレースへの取り組みに、一層、ファンとして来年もまたマガリー選手を応援したい、頑張って欲しいと思う気持ちになりました。感動をありがとうございました！
2010-07-19 マガリー選手と女性ライダーの集い
Female Riders’ Meeting with Magali
A female riders’ meeting was held at Kota circuit in Okazaki city on 19th July. Ms. Magali Langlois, a female racer who is going to ride at Suzuka 8 hours this weekend, was with us. WIMA Japan set up a booth and released the brand-new DVD of Japan rally.
Participants enjoyed circuit touring and a talk show by Magali was followed. She kindly answered to various questions including training methods, diet, and her daily life. To our surprise, she started racing when she was 28 year-old and she said it’s not too late in France. Here we found another difference in motorcycle cultures between Europe and Japan.
マガリー選手と女性ライダーの集い
7月19日，愛知県岡崎市の幸田サーキットYRP桐山で，鈴鹿8耐へのマガリー・ラングロア選手の参戦を記念した，女性ライダーの集いがありました。WIMAもブースを出展しました。
約30名の参加者がサーキットツーリングを楽しみ，その後のトークショーでは，女性ライダーであるマガリー選手へ，トレーニング方法や食事について，日常生活など，いろいろな質問に丁寧に答えてくださいました。28歳の時に上司の誘いでレースライダーデビューをされたというマガリー選手。ここにも日本とヨーロッパのバイク文化の違いがありますね。
Suzuka 8 hours
Some member of WIMA Japan is going to Suzuka 8 hours to see her ride this weekend. We are looking forward to see her elegant and tough ride. Check “MOTO-JOURNAL & UEMATSU 903”!
I hope I can meet her again at a European Rally of WIMA someday.

2010-04-28 いよいよスタート！
Japan Rally Day 1: April 27
It was quite a sight that about 100 motorcycles are waiting to leave in lines! Our rally started in rain unfortunately and members arrived at Fujisanroku Yamano-Mura, or WIMA village, shivering with cold. Need a fireplace!
Day 2: April 28
Still raining but we had group touring to Izu, Odawar-jyo castle, Iyashino-sato, Motorcycle gear shopping or Geisha show in Atami. Some had a rest at WIMA village hoping for clear sky. It was our only hope as well! We had a welcome party at night. Following to welcome addresses by Mayer of Fujinomiya city Mr. Komuro, Congresswoman Ms. Hayakawa, and President of Kizuki (rental bike dealer) Mr. Matsuzaki, exciting Wadaiko (Japanese drum) and Koto (Japanese harp) were performed. Their stages were so impressive and many members tried Wadaiko on the stage later. We also had Ms. Reiko Yamamura as a special guest and her talk pumped up enthusiasm of members and she was greeted by a long standing ovation! After all, motorcycle and smile are common language of WIMA!
ラリー2日目：4月28日
まずは，伊豆，小田原城，いやしの里＋野鳥の森，いやしの里＋温泉，バイクワールドショッピング，熱海芸者をどり鑑賞の，6コースに分かれてグループツーリングを楽しみました。昨日に引き続き雨模様だったのが残念。夜はウェルカムパーティが開かれました。富士宮市小室市長や早川議員，レンタルバイクでご協力いただいた（株）キズキ松崎社長のご挨拶に続いて，和太鼓の演奏に琴のデュオ，メンバーたちは大興奮＆大感動でした。また，山村レイコさんをゲストに迎え，スライドを交えてお話いただきましたが，最後にはスタンディングオベーションで大盛り上がりとなりました。やっぱりバイクと笑顔が共通語のWIMAです。
Day 3: April 29
It was the day of Yabusame ritual. However we decided to cancel guided tour due to heavy rain in the morning. But still about 30 people rode to the site on their own because they have full of curiosity and spirit of never give up. Then they got reward! The sun started shining and Mt. Fuji showed her beautiful face in the afternoon! Konnichiwa! It was the first meeting with Fuji-san for many members. Yabusame was enjoyed by some members and we are sorry for not able to guide all of you to the site… Sumimasen.
ラリー3日目：4月29日
やぶさめ祭り開催日でしたが，午前中の雨により引率は中止。しかし好奇心旺盛で何事もあきらめないメンバー約30名は自力で会場まで走りました。ご褒美に空は晴れ，勇壮なやぶさめ祭りを堪能できたようです。
Day 4: April 30
We enjoyed quiz orienteering whole the day. Members rode freely with a map on their tank. Places to visit were some tourist spots and Reiko-san’s caf Fairy Tale. It was great to ride in the beautiful weather and Fuji-san was always watching over us! Geisha Night was held at night and each division showed their unique performances on the stage. Then we move on the Bon dance outside! Everyone followed the teacher “Right! Left! Open! Up! Cho-chon-ga-chon!” and absorbedly kept dancing around a campfire.
ラリー4日目：4月30日
今日は，クイズオリエンテーリングを実施。オリエンテーリング形式で地図をタンクに貼り付けポイントをまわりながらクイズの回答を探します。ポイントは観光名所とWIMAらしく，ドライブインもちやさん，レイコさんのカフェFairy Taleなど。何といっても昨日までとうってかわって富士山が顔を見せてくれる最高のお天気の中で気持ちよく走れたことが最高でしたね。夜は「芸者ナイト」と称した各国出し物大会が行われ，それぞれがその国ならではの出し物を見せてくれました。さらには，外に出てキャンプファイヤを囲んでの盆踊り大会！「ライトー，レフトー，オープーン，ハイ，チョチョンがチョン」と先生の周りがダンゴ状態になるほどみんな一所懸命になって踊りました。
Day 5: May 1
Parade!! Perfect weather again! Thank Kamisama! First we did “Love the Earth” cleaning campaign at Mizugazuka parking and paraded to Camp Takigahara of Japan Self Defense Force headed by Woman Police motorcycles “Fuji Wing”. At the camp, we are welcomed by the performances of Drum team of Camp Takigahara and Shizuoka Prefectural Police Music and Flag team. The flag girls are very popular among foreign members and we danced together! Next, there was a pray for traffic safety and success of the rally by the Fujisan-Hongu-Sengen Shrine. Each of us seriously prayed for it. Then we had exciting events! One was trial demo by Kenichi Kuroyama, an international Super-A class trial professional rider, from Team Kuroyama Racing YAMAHA and the other was gymkhana demo by JAGE. We also had demo of airbag jackets. Members were surprised by such a lot of wonderful events and asking us “What are you hiding next?!” and we all had a great day as a rider!

最高の天気に恵まれ，富士山が見守る中，いざパレードへ！まずは，会場を提供してくださった静岡県の皆さんにお礼の気持ちを込めて，水ヶ塚駐車場周辺でラブ・ジ・アース清掃活動を行いました。その後，自衛隊滝ヶ原駐屯地まで「交通安全」のタスキをかけたメンバーたちが女性白バイ隊「フジウィング」先導によりパレードをしました。駐屯地では，滝ヶ原駐屯地和太鼓チームの演奏，静岡県警察本部音楽隊・フラッグチームのパフォーマンス，富士山本宮浅間大社交通安全ご祈祷，Team 黒山レーシングYAMAHA 黒山健一選手によるトライアルのデモ，二輪ジムカーナ主催者団体協議会（JAGE）によるジムカーナのデモ，エアバッグ実演と，盛りだくさんのサプライズイベントが用意されており，メンバーたちはびっくりし通しでした。WIMAメンバーのみならず，WIMA以外の多くの外部協力者の惜しみない協力の賜物です。
Day 6: May 2
Some went out for touring and the others stayed in WIMA village and had a relaxed day today. In the village people enjoyed various games joined by local children. Yakisoba noodle ranch was prepared by the Fujinomiya Yakisoba Society. Many members experienced Japanese culture through outdoor green tea ceremony, cloisonn work, kimono, kanji, furoshiki, souvenir craft and Ninjya. Time does fly fast! Farewell party was held at night. All participants received hand-made gifts by WIMA Japan member or fancy prizes from sponsors. Each of them will be a commemorative gift for us to remember the Japan rally.
ラリー6日目：5月2日
ツーリングに出かけるメンバーもおり，施設に残りイベントを楽しむメンバーもおり，思い思いにリラックスして過ごした1日です。施設内ではゲーム大会が行われ，地元の子供たちも招いて，新たな国際交流も生まれました。ランチには富士宮やきそば学会のご協力で，できたて富士宮やきそばを堪能。また日本文化体験として，抹茶の野点，七宝焼き，着物試着，風呂敷教室，漢字屋，お土産作成コーナーも用意されました。夜にはフェアウェルパーティで，楽しかったラリーも終わりを迎えてしまいました。ゲーム大会の結果や各賞の発表と抽選会が行われ，会員手作りの和の小物や各協賛企業から提供していただいた豪華賞品を参加者全員が受け取りました。ひとつひとつがラリーを思い出す記念品になるのでしょうね。
Day 7: May 3
Most of foreign members had short trip to rental dealer in Yokohama in a group. In total, we had 258 participants and were able to close the rally without major accident. This is maybe thanks to the pray at the Camp Takigahara on May 1st. Fuji-san, Arigato. “I fell in love with Japan.” “I will come back again.” “I want to say more than thank you.” “This is the best WIMA rally ever.” Those are messages given to WIMA Japan from foreign members. We are extremely happy that our effort has been rewarded. We, organizing team sincerely thank Ms. Sakamoto, Director of Yamano-mura for her generous support, our cook for their delicious dishes, sponsors and individuals who have been supporting us, foreign members of WIMA and WIMA Japan. Arigato-gozaimashita!
ラリー最終日：5月3日
レンタルバイクを利用した海外メンバーは横浜までプチツーリング。258名という予想を超える参加者数であった上に，大きな事故もなくラリーを無事終えることができました。メンバーからは「日本に来てよかった」「また来たい」「サンキュー以上の言葉を伝えたいが見つからない」「これまでで最高のWIMAラリーだったよ」と，最高のねぎらいの言葉をもらうことができました。3年間にわたる努力が報われた瞬間でした。これまで支えていただいた富士山麓山の村坂本所長，素晴らしい料理を提供していただいた料理人の皆さん，協力・協賛いただいた企業と個人の皆さま，WIMA海外メンバー，日本支部メンバーに対し，実行委員会としても「ありがとうございます」以上の言葉を伝えたいのですが見つかりません。心より感謝いたします。

2010-04-26 プレラリー4日目 鎌倉
Pre-rally bus tour: Day 4, 26th April
We visited Kotokuin Temple, where the Great Buddha of Kamakura (Kamakura Daibutsu) is located. People were overwhelmed by the massive Buddha. We then went to the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine. A great ginkgo tree that stood for 1,000 years at the shrine fell down due to a storm in March and now on the process of revitalization. There were many new buds sprouted from the roots that survived. What a tenacious vitality! Members went out into Komachi shopping street after visiting the shrine and I came along with a person who was looking for Yukata. She found nice one for her father, one for her son, and one for herself. I hope she reminds this trip every time she slips into the Yukata.

今日は，国宝阿弥陀如来像，鎌倉の大仏とご対面。メンバーは，その大きさに圧倒されていました。その後，鶴岡八幡宮へ。3月に強風で倒れてしまった大銀杏の再生が行われていましたが，小さな芽がたくさん出ていました。素晴らしい生命力です。最後は小町通りでそれぞれがショッピングを楽しみました。私はゆかたの買い物におつきあい。3枚お買い上げ！国に帰ってからもこれを羽織るたびに今回の旅を思いだしてくれると嬉しいですね。
2010-04-25 プレラリー3日目
Pre-rally bus tour: Day 3, 25th April
We had a bit more laid-back schedule than yesterday, and visited Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Rinnoji Temple, Lake Chuzenji, Kegon Waterfall, and Sake brewery.
It was perfect weather! On the bus on Metropolitan Expressway (or Shutoko) one member said “Oh, Fuji-san” and we looked out of window and there we saw Mt. Fuji in the hazy distance. It is rare that we can see Fuji from Shutoko. They are so fortunate ladies! In addition to this, cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Nikko thanks to cold weather of past few weeks. On I-Ro-Ha-zaka (ABC slope?) people are excited at each 48 corners as rock walls closing up just in front of their eyes; very different experience from riding motorcycles. After drove through the corners, there was an applause, “Thanks, good driver!” Sake brewery was another highlight of today’s tour. We tasted various sake and did shopping. Unfiltered sake (Nigori-zake) was popular among members.
プレラリー3日目 日光
今日の行程は，日光東照宮，輪王寺，中禅寺湖，華厳の滝，日本酒製造工程見学。昨日よりはゆっくり楽しみました。
天気が最高に良くて，海外メンバーが首都高で「オー，フジサン」とつぶやいたので窓の外を見ると富士山の姿が！4月に見えるのはめずらしいようで，本当にラッキーなメンバーたちです。また，今年は桜が早く咲き始めましたが，最近の寒さのお陰で日光東照宮の桜がちょうど満開を迎えていました。いろは坂では，バイクと違って岩壁が目の前に迫り，その度にバスの中は大騒ぎで，走り抜けたあとは「グッドドライバー！」と拍手が起こりました。お楽しみの日本酒製造工程見学と試飲のあとは，日本酒だけでなく，酒粕や漬物などの買い物を楽しみましたが，にごり酒が人気のようでした。お天気に恵まれ，メンバーの顔も輝いていた一日でした。
2010-04-24 プレラリー2日目
Pre-rally bus tour: Day 2, 24th April
Today’s destinations are Honda Welcome Plaza AOYAMA, Meiji Shinto shrine, Imperial East garden, Asakusa, Odaiba and Ginza. It was an intense day!
ASIMO was going to greet us but he became sick yesterday and was hospitalized, and we couldn’t meet him. However, it was a perfect place to visit for foreign riders. Members enjoyed the Welcome Plaza very much and did some shopping as well. At Meiji Shinto shrine, we were able to see a wedding ceremony and some people bought a charm for traffic safety and put it on their jacket. It looks cool! Despite this busy schedule, people said “We could see a lot of interesting things and it was a great day!”
Interestingly, many people were excited about Japanese toilet; Automatic lids, noise-masking machines, and many buttons for bidet. Members even took pictures of toile! It seems to take off their shoes at a restaurant is one of the interesting cultures of Japan and shoe locker was also a photographic subject!
Our energetic guests are enjoying Tokyo even after dinner; some went to karaoke and most of them walked back to our hotel from Ginza, two stops by train, on their own. They might know about Tokyo better than I do!
プレラリー2日目 都内観光
観光バスで朝から出発。Hondaウエルカムプラザ青山，明治神宮，皇居東御苑，浅草，お台場，銀座と，超盛りだくさんの内容です。
ASIMOにお出迎えをしてもらう予定でしたが，なんと昨夜不調により入院してしまい，会えませんでした。残念でしたが，メンバーたちはとっても楽しんだ様子で，ASIMOのストラップなどお買い物までしていました。明治神宮では結婚式の様子も見ることができ，交通安全のお守りも人気でした。過密スケジュールにもかかわらず，「楽しかったよ〜！」と口々に言ってくれていました。
ツアー中，誰もが面白がって話が盛り上がるのが，日本のトイレ！ふたが自動で開いたり，ボタンがいっぱいあって押してみると噴水状態になったり，トイレには写真を撮るために列ができることもありました。靴を脱ぐという日本の文化も面白いらしく，昼食を食べたレストランでは下駄箱の写真を撮る人もたくさんいました。何についても興味津津のメンバーたちです。
そして，やっぱりたのもしく旅慣れた海外メンバーは，こちらの心配をよそに，精力的に夕食後もそれぞれ楽しんでいます。昨日はカラオケに行ったというメンバーもおり，今日は銀座からホテルまで電車で2駅の距離ですが，自分たちだけで歩いて帰ってきたり。どんどん日本を満喫してもらいたいです。

Launch of the 5-day pre-rally bus tour! 23rd April
Many members of the world arrived!
Unfortunately some people were forced to cancel to join the pre-rally and the rally due to the volcanic eruption. However, nearly 100 people gathered together in Tokyo and had dinner at a hotel.
They must be tired after long flights but they are all cheerful and that made us so happy! We were impressed by their “never give up” spirit. The bus tour starts tomorrow and we are so excited about what’s going to happen!
I hope each of them to create wonderful memories in Japan!
プレラリーツアー開始
今日から5日間のプレラリーバスツアーが始まりました。
この数日の火山の影響で残念ながら数名のキャンセルがあったものの，本日到着予定のメンバーが一同に会し，ディナーを楽しみました。100名近くのメンバーが明日から東京近郊のバスツアーに出かけます。
旅の疲れはどこへ行ったのか，みんなパワフルです。予約したフライトがどうなるかわからない状況の中，最後まで諦めずに来てくれたWIMAのメンバーに感動し，これまで海外で見た顔ぶれが日本にたくさんいることに，不思議な感覚を覚えました。明日からの旅が楽しみです。
素敵な思い出をいっぱい持って帰ってもらいたいですね。

Power of Mt. Fuji
I’m now on the way to Tokyo from Osaka.
I just passed beautiful Mt. Fuji and prayed to Fuji-san for arrival of European members before 27th April. “Please blow away the cloud and let airplanes fly to Japan. They all want to see you!”

今日も美しい姿の富士山に出会うことができました。
火山の影響が心配なヨーロッパメンバーのことを考え，思わず神頼み。「お願いです。ヨーロッパメンバーは，皆，あなたに会いたがっています。飛行機を飛ばしてください！」

Motorcycle Shows in Osaka and Tokyo
20-22 March and 26-28 March, 2010
We joined Motorcycle Shows again and did PR activities of WIMA in Osaka and Tokyo.

We were happy and surprised at the reactions who received fliers because many of them said “I know that you have the rally this year in Japan for the first time in Asia.”; very different from last year!
In Tokyo, one member was interviewed on a 15 minutes-talk-show. With the pictures from past rallies on her back, she talked about WIMA and our International Rally in front of hundreds of audience. On this occasion, we would like to introduce how western riders are enjoying with motorcycles to Japanese riders, and help improve riders’ awareness on the sense of responsibility and safety to create better motorcycle culture in Japan.

大阪ではサイドスタンドさんのブース，東京ではレディースサポートスクエアで1カ月後にせまったラリーについて，またWIMAについて，お知らせをしました。お話した方の中で「あ，知ってますよ。」「アジアで初の開催なんですよね。」とおっしゃって下さる方が昨年までと比較にならないほど多く，とても嬉しく思いました。
東京
東京ではステージでトークショーの時間をいただき，WIMAについてのお話もさせていただきました。不慣れな場でしどろもどろになりながらの話に耳を傾けてくださった皆さん，ありがとうございました。WIMAの活動について，少しでも伝わっていれば嬉しいです。いろいろな話をしましたが，WIMA日本支部としては，欧米のライダーの装備や責任感の高さを国内に紹介し，その安全意識や責任感を日本でも推進することに役に立ちたいと思っています。海外ラリーに参加しにくい日本のメンバーにも，実際に海外のライダーたちと会うことによって，それを実感し意識が高まることを期待しています。ラリー後に，メンバー1人1人が，家族のため，社会のために，安全運転を心掛けるという基本的な気持ちを確実に持ち，それを発信していけるライダーが増えることに繋がることを願っています。
